The same year, she was offered a job as an entry-level chef at the restaurant An American Place for one year. Guarnaschelli began her food experiences while watching recipes that she'd been editing in her mother's cookbooks getting examined at her home. She worked as a sous chef under Larry Forgione and then at various restaurants in New York France and Los Angeles including Guy Savoy's La Butte Chaillot. Guarnaschelli eventually became the the executive chef of Butter. Guarnaschelli competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America in 2007. She fought Cat Cora at the Farmers Market Battle of 2007 and she won. In the years since, she's appeared in the program as an guest judge. She also took part in The Next Iron Chef Season Four in 2011 where she came in third. Additionally, she participated in The Food Network Challenge Ultimate Thanksgiving Feast but was eliminated.
